Today we joined our friends from Room 5 to create sand saucers  to put on the War memorial steps.
Every year at Ashley School we remember the fallen soldiers.

Later in the morning we has a treasure hunt.
The weather is so bad we had to hunt inside.
We had 6 clues.
The challenge was to make words rhyme.

Look who we found!
Guess what was in his basket!

A very Happy Easter everyone.
Enjoy the family time.

Fabulous Friday...

Today we dressed in mufti.
Some of us came as Easter bunnies.

There was time for using the iPads.

Later in the morning at Language Experience time we read Joy Cowley's book

Now we are like Smarty Pants!

Not too many sleeps before Easter Bunny visits!

A surprise visitor today...

We went to the school hall and oh what a surprise!
He has safety messages for us all.
Take care when you cross the road
 and always CLICK you seatbelt.

We will remember about the sneaky driveways and to walk on the house side of the footpath.
Room 6 children will always use the pedestrian crossing.
Thank you for reminding us of how to keep safe on the road.

Children's ideas for Discovery today

Some of us are bringing along good ideas for our Discovery time.
When we bring along an idea we prepare everything that we need and set up a table.
We explain to our friends what to do.
Our ideas are always very popular.
Check these out!

Thank you Lachlan.

Rocco and James are good at cooperating.

Maggie likes Maisie's idea.

Eric Carle language experience

We have created a night sky for our moon pictures that go with the story
Papa, please bring me the moon by Eric Carle.
We learnt about adding white to blue to create different tints of blue.

The hot glue gun was a challenge to use when we made our ladders.

It was fun to cut out the moon. Some of us chose a full moon.
We even made crescent moons.
Our special shape cutters helped with the stars.

Self Portraits!

We are so proud of our latest works of Art.
We have mounted them in cool frames.
Today we will share our work in assembly.
Our families will love them on the wall.

A huge thank you to Angela for finding the frames at the recycling depot.

Sports fun

Just a few photos of us out on the back field
enjoying skill practice with our sport coaches.

We look forward to every second Tuesday for our skill sessions.

We are looking at graphs during Maths time.
We are making choices and creating bar graphs together.

Next we used the building blocks to help us compare.

We have these in the Discovery zone.
