New term and new friends in Room 6

We have new friends arriving this week.

A warm hello to Caden, Eden, Maggie and Zak.

We look forward to fun times together.

New Friends

We have more new friends arriving at our school.

We took photos of ourselves and than added handprints and footprints!

So cool.

The paint tickled our toes and it felt chilly too.

Lesa helped us clean the paint off our feet.

 Jorja-Rose laughed a lot.

Our wall display is fantastic. Please come in and see.

A heads up for TERM 3...

Every Wednesday we will be swimming at the Dudley Pool in Rangiora.

We will travel by bus.

Our swim session starts at 12.30 and we finish there around 1.30.

If the bridge is closed we will go "the long way round" and adjust our timing accordingly.

Following our swimming session we will travels to the Gym in Edwards Street.

We will leave there around 2.30.

       

We always welcome your help at the pool and we would love to see you at the Gym.

Children may be collected directly from the Gym if this is more convenient due to possible bridge closures.

Can we make an egg bounce?

Last week we started an experiment to see if we could bounce an egg.    

We put one egg in a glass of vinegar and one egg in a glass of water. 

 We had to wait 7 days before we could test if the egg would bounce.  

We waited and watched.  In only a few hours we had already noticed that  our egg in vinegar looked different.  It was bigger and had lots of tiny bubbles around the shell. 

On the 7th day we took the egg out of the water. It still looked and felt the same.  We took the egg out of the vinegar. It looked bigger and felt very different!  It didn't have a hard shell any more, but a soft outside that felt like rubber.  

Only Hunter didn't think our egg would bounce! Was he right?

 Yes he was. It went splat!

 It was also a fantastic sunny day for flying our wind socks outside  this afternoon!  

We are marvellous photographers.

We have been learning how to take good photos and to select good shots to download.

Today we came to school with a favourite toy to practice taking interesting photos with.

Thank you to Lesa ( Riley's Mum) for helping us outside.
