Today we held our Poetry Competition finals.

Congratulations to Maisie and Eden.

They came second equal in Year 1.

Well done to all the Year 1 children who practiced really hard.

A huge round of applause for Zak in Room 7 who came first and is proudly wearing his medal.

Collaboration

While we have been finding information about Dinosaurs we discovered that the Stegosaurus was a herbivore. This dinosaur swallowed small stones to help digest his food.

Today we experimented with stones and leaves to see how this would work.

We needed a little water to help grind the plant with the stones.

Although it's not cold enough to snow just yet we had fun making snowmen using fun finger painting.

Holly likes symmetry. She chose two photos to work with today.

On Friday we join our friends in Room 4 to share stories.

We work together really well.

Our buddies are so helpful and enjoy reading with us.

Some of us chose to work in the "break out" space. 

Others like to work at the desks.

Reading on the floor suits some of us too.

Room 4 Maisy was impressed with Eden's reading.

Room 4 Emma was helpful  and encouraging when Maisie was trying new words.

Great collaboration today.

Lucy is in Room 6

Lucy is now in our class.

We are glad you are here.

We have two girls with this name.
So one we will call Luci with an i
and the other Lucy with a y.

Quality Story Writing in Room 6

Our writing is on display so that our class friends can read our work

 and be inspired to write too.

Luci and Holly have really focussed on their  written work.

They are trying hard to sound out new words and make the story interesting.

They are using the new digraphs that we have focussed on too.

Eden loves to write. She writes at home too.

She has written more than three sentences. Great work Eden.

Today we had to make a big decision!

If we were a dinosaur would we be a herbivore or carnivore!

Our dinosaur drawings were sketched onto cartridge paper

 so that we could dye wash later. We all used crayons so that the dye was really effective.

Everyone tried hard to draw a dinosaur.

Now our creative work is hanging in Room 6.
