We made planes today!

Friday is always great fun as it is Developmental day. This morning one of our choices was to construct planes. One of our Dads helped us with extra ideas. Check out some of our planes.

We did a great job with the hot glue gun. Check out the propellers.

Bokashi...

Lesley Ottey visited us today to talk about Wastemanagement. Lesley will visit us each term to help with our recycling and waste.
We now have a Bokashi system to use in the classroom. We will need to be very careful what we put in the bin and we will carefully add the compost-zing so that we have no smell in our class.

We will try hard to keep the right food in here!

Using the Digital Camera.

We have been learning how to use the camera. We have taken lots of photos to put in our book to show our progress. Today we took our favourite toys outside and photographed them in the playground. This animoto has some of our photos. We are really doing a great job.

Developmental discoveries.

Junior Developmental Programme

Every Friday morning from 9.00a.m. to 10.30a.m. Rooms 6 & 7 work together for our Developmental programme.

Developmental is an activity-based programme. It provides opportunities for teachers to meet the diverse needs of students through well planned, structured, "hands on" experiences.

This programme provides opportunities for students to direct their own learning, participate in new experiences, encounter new challenges, extend existing skills, work co-operatively, interact socially and problem-solve creatively.

The key competencies. Participating and Contributing, Managing Self,Thinking, Relating to Others, Using language, symbols, and texts become a focus.

If anyone has wood offcuts and nails, dress-ups or costumes, these would be lovely.

We welcome parents, grandparents and family friends to join us during this time.

Extra hands and ideas are always appreciated.

P.M.P.

We have started our Perceptual Motor Programme. This programme is based on balance, body awareness, control and co-ordination. It provides many fundamental skills needed by our junior children.
We have lots of fun as we learn, and each week we change the activities at our five stations. You are welcome to join us on Wednesday at 2.00 p.m. and Thursday at 9.30 a.m.

More Sporting Fun!

Today we played more invasion games with Ryan and Zak. We are learning about protecting our goal, faking a pass, and drawing in a player. It was loads of fun playing 'piggy in the middle'.
