The Ugly Duckling

We read the story called "The Ugly Duckling" for language experience today.

We investigated other animals that hatch out of eggs.  These are some of the animals we found.

Can you find out the names of some others?

The Little Red Hen

On Friday we enjoyed reading the story of the little red hen.  In Room 6 we know that it is important to help each other so when we made scones after reading the story we all helped! Everyone had an important job and everyone got to share the scones at the end.  We thought they tasted delicious!

Marvellous Maths...

How many rods will it weigh?
That was our question today.
We worked with a buddy to use the bucket balances.
We experimented with classroom objects to see if we could make them balance with rods.

It was great fun today. We cooperated with each other and we will practice more over the next two weeks.

Production update ...

  • We are underway!
  • Thanks to you all for supporting us with costumes, set design, lighting & sound.

We would like to have all costumes here at school on September 4th.
We will then be better able to place our children on the stage etc.

Again a huge thanks for all the support.
We really appreciate it.
We look forward to a great night ahead.

Gill, Rochelle & Juanita.

PRINTMAKING

Over the last few weeks we have been working on our turtle prints.
We used grey paint and potatoes to make the shell body shape.
Next we used black paint and cotton reels to create the shell designs.
Once the paint had dried we used our crayons to add the turtle heads and legs.
We liked drawing the underwater weeds.
Last we used blue dye to make it look like we had our turtles under the sea.

On Thursday we took then to assembly to show everyone. We are really proud of our work.
