Friday Discovery

Today we were so excited to move back into our classroom!  We loved racing up and down our new ramp and paths!

During Discovery Time we have been practicing lots of skills including following instructions, how to share,  take turns  and help each other to pack up to keep our classroom tidy and safe!  We are getting really good at working with our  class mates using kind words and offering to help each other.

Today we explored the theme of Pigs.  We found out that we already know lots of white hat facts about Pigs . Check out some of the board games and  puppets that some of the children made!

We are really trying hard to take our time to make sure we are producing some quality work!

We also had fun observing this salt volcano experiment.  We mixed water, oil and food colouring together in a glass jar. We found that the oil was lighter than water so it sat as a separate layer on the top.   When we sprinkled salt on the top we watched bubbles fall to the bottom and bounce back up again.
Over the next week we will think about this question :
What happens when we add salt to the oil and water? Why?

You can check out how to do this experiment at home by clicking on this link http://www.exploratorium.edu/science_explorer/volcano.html
